Should I splurge?

I am strongly considering having someone come clean my house a time or two to get it more Spring Cleaned.

The boys are getting older and busier and it isn't the same as when we homeschooled and I gave them each a list of chores for the day.

We are trying to get it clean, but honestly, we just can't keep up.

We have company coming in a month and I am thinking that if I get someone out here twice in that time period, it can be pretty clean by then......once next week and once a few days before company comes.

I know it is expensive and it kills me to spend the $$, but I am tired of dealing with it.

ARGH!!!!!!!!

Spring cleaning is exhausting. I’ll pay up. It’s also a lot easier to declutter after one round of spring cleaning because it feels less daunting.

I didn’t do any spring cleaning for lunar new year this year. Waiting until all science labs are done then we’ll do a big spring cleaning after decluttering.

Yes!! Do it!! I so regret that I didn't have someone in to clean the house before the holidays this year. I won't make that mistake again.

ETA: We usually pay $130 for them to do the main floor, the stairs and upstairs hall and bathroom. They don't do the bedrooms or our basement rec room. I'm about 25 minutes from NYC, so I'd imagine it may be more expensive around here.

:bigear:

My back cannot sustain any kind of cleaning (except for dusting perhaps if I don't twist around too much) for longer than 15 minutes at a time. It's very frustrating.

I am all ears what kind of service people find, or no service but a someone that was referred to them?

you should definitely do it.  you are working full time and, like you said, your boys are older and busier.   $300 for 2 visits sounds fabulous from where I live.

Well, I am asking if it will be that, I haven't actually priced it yet.

Yes.  Do it.  Sooner rather than later.  It is worth the feeling of a lot of worry and unpleasantness off your head.

Also, you will clean for the maids and that will help you get some tasks off of your to-do list.  :)

Actually, I won't.  I may pick up a few things, but I seriously won't clean to pay someone to clean.

I always picked up clutter before the cleaners came...so they could clean more. We are clutter bugs, so it did make a difference.

Yes, do it! I used to have a gal in once a month to clean. She retired and I've not found a solid replacement....and my house shows it.

You should do it!

I have my cleaning person come once every 2 weeks,oh what a blessing it has been. Most cleaners prefer coming at least once in 2 weeks

as its easier for them to maintain it.

Ask family and friends in the area for recommendations for a cleaner and compare the price.

Yes. We splurged on that very thing this year because I’m oregnsnt and exhausted and can’t keep up. It has been wonderful to have a cleaning crew come clean my house twice a month. Such a huge stress relief!

So smart to do it while you are pg.  I should have done that.

I agree with everyone.  Yes.

I did that for the first time a few years ago, and it was so worth it!  They vacuumed everywhere, even moved heavy furniture (and our piano!) to get behind things, removed all the couch and arm chair cushions to vacuum, vacuumed under beds.  They washed the wooden floors, moved the entire dining room table to really clean the floor well, washed down the walls, cleaned the kitchen cupboard doors, the oven....  Wow, it was great.
