SarahB82
For those who have used it in a co-op or group setting - did you have lab supplies for each individual student? Or did you just have one set of supplies for the class?
Erica in OR
For me, depends partly on the lab, partly on the student ages, partly on what I have around the house, partly if the materials are non-consumable. I have two classes, one K-3 and the other 4-6. I tend to do more of an interactive demo with some of the activities with the younger group, rather than let them all loose on an entire set of the materials. For example, I'll ask a student to come up to help do one part of the activity, then a different student for the next part, etc., while we discuss what's going on. Whenever possible, I like everyone to be able to have their own set of materials, but that's not always feasible. So that's basically not a lot of help to you. :tongue_smilie: Erica in OR

I am trying to figure out how much it is going to cost to use the curriculum for a group and can't decide if it is worth it to have everyone pay for the supply pack from RR or if we can get by with just gathering them week to week. Surviving February the best way I know how- planning for next year with confidence it is going to be sooo much better than this year! ;)
Erica in OR
Which book are you doing this year / next year? I guess I wasn't even aware RR did a supply pack. Erica in OR
SoCal_Bear
I split my co-op class into teams with 3-4 students each and rotate them through the labs. Sometimes, it is something where I do want one set for each students. Other times, it's a set for each team of students. And then more rarely I would do I demo for the whole class. The supply pack isn't cheap. I found that it is pretty easy to get the supplies I need. He lists all the supplies you need for each unit in the front of the book. I just scan that and know if there is something I just need to get because it's not in my pantry supplies. There's very little that is unusual that is needed for the lab. friendlyjas
Ours depended on the experiment. Some we did as a demonstration style. Some each kid did their own. Our group was only 7 students. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
