Carol in Cal.
Oh, have you read the others by that same author? They are absolutely charming. I've read My Grandmother Said To Tell You That She's Sorry is so good. And then reading Brit Marie Was Here afterwards was such a pleasure.

Beartown is another by him.... One of my all time favorites. I loved it!!

UnionJack
Here are some others I’ve loved in the last year or two Sea of Tranquility The Child Finder Salt to the Sea Gods in Alabama The Hired Girl The Light between Oceans A Fall of Marigolds The Gilded Years The Secret Keeper
6packofun
Yes, read his others! I LOVED Britt-Marie Was Here. These 2 lists are pretty good, actually, for other suggestions. I'm reading Etta and Otto and Russell and James right now and it's good, but not as humorous as Backman's books. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/off-the-shelf-/8-books-to-read-after-a-m_b_11914906.html https://media.bookbub.com/blog/2017/06/01/books-like-a-man-called-ove/

I've read My Grandmother Said To Tell You That She's Sorry is so good. Beartown is another by him.... One of my all time favorites. I loved it!! I really liked A Man Called Ove, but didn't like these two books by the same author. I was disappointed because I enjoyed A Man Called Ove so much.

thessa516
The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared. I haven't read it yet, but it was recommended to me after I told someone I loved A Man Called Ove. If you have Amazon Prime, it's currently free to stream on Audible right now.

I laughed throughout this book. It’s far fetched, but it works.
