Momto6inIN
DS is applying for an Elks scholarship and they need a full SAR report from the FAFSA people. I submitted the FAFSA back in October with our estimated 2017 numbers. Do I log back in to the FAFSA website and make a correction now that I've almost finished our official taxes? If they aren't filed yet, is that ok? All I need is our AGI, if I remember right. Or do I need some kind of documentation from the IRS that the numbers are official? Or do I just go ahead and use the SAR from the estimate? If I do need the new official numbers, how long does it take to process the correction and get an updated SAR? The Elks just sent him an email this week that the SAR is due by Jan 31. Between filing taxes and the FAFSA I am so over the IRS right now :svengo:
Melissa B
Didn't they change FAFSA so you are supposed to use your 2016 tax info for the 2018-2019 school year?

MerryAtHope
Oh my word, my brain is so fried ... you're completely right ... I feel so stupid ... thank you!!!! Taxes can do that to a person! (I am so glad they changed that though--much less stressful than having FAFSA and taxes to do at once!) Hang in there!
