Spryte
I very recently received a new iPhone as a gift (squeeeee!), and planned on selling my old iPhone 6 back, for the cash. We have no need for an old phone. But. Ugh. My old phone appears to be gone. I know where it was in our house, and it is Gone Gone. I used Find my IPhone, and can see that it is offline. I put it in Lost Mode, but I have a question. If it’s not just lost, and a person actually has it: If the person who has it turns it on, can they use my iPhone passcode to unlock it? The code on my phone is known to the two people who may have it. :( If so, can I change the passcode from my new phone? FWIW, I have changed my Apple ID. But they could still open my phone, if the passcode works (I’m talking about the six digit code to unlock the phone, just to be clear.). There’s obviously a lot of personal data on my old phone. I know I could erase it. But then if it’s turned on any hope of tracking it will be gone. Darn. I am bummed. And kind of sick to think someone may have taken it. Someone I know. :(
Selkie
I don't know the answer, but I'm sorry if that is what happened. :grouphug:
Arcadia
Unfortunately you can’t change your passcode from another Apple device. My kid forgot his passcode on his iPad once and luckily it worked on his 3rd try. Everything is backup to my iCloud account but it would have been still a pain to reset and restore.
