The SSAR Pre-baccalaureate program has funding available for the 2018 conference in Rochester. https://ssarherps.org/2017/12/ssar-funding-for-junior-and-senior-high-school-students-to-attend-2018-jmih/

SSAR is VERY gifted kid friendly as far as accepting that younger kids can be very into a subject and benefit from exposure (DD was given the grant at age 9). The conference, though, is not particularly kid friendly in that it's a typical academic conference. If your child wants to actually be around snakes and frogs, this isn't it. If your child's idea of fun is listening to graduate students present their doctoral research, though, this is heaven. DD loves it, and thrives on it-she comes alive at the conferences.

I'm not sure if we're going this year or not. DD wants to, but she also wants to take advantage of some of the other options available for high school and college students, and it comes down to "how much time (and money) do we have". She could easily do something every week of this summer if we just had infinite resources and a private jet.
