mathnerd
I would like to start using Crossing the River with Dogs with my 10 year old. He is very interested and adept at elementary level problem solving strategies and is trying to learn more advanced strategies. I see that they have 2 different books by the same author and I am not sure which to use: There is one called "Crossing The River with Dogs: Problem Solving for College Students": https://www.amazon.com/Crossing-River-Dogs-Problem-Students/dp/0470464739 There is another called "Problem Solving Strategies: Crossing The River With Dogs and Other Mathematical Adventures": https://www.amazon.com/Problem-Solving-Strategies-Mathematical-Adventures/dp/1559533706 What is the difference between these 2 books? Do these books come with solutions in the back? Or is there a solutions manual? Any other suggestions for me? Thanks in advance!
KaleSprouts
I have this book: "Problem Solving Strategies: Crossing The River With Dogs and Other Mathematical Adventures". I've attached a snapshot of part of the first page of the TOC. "Crossing The River with Dogs: Problem Solving for College Students": See TOC here: https://www.wiley.com/en-us/Crossing+the+River+with+Dogs%3A+Problem+Solving+for+College+Students%2C+2nd+Edition-p-9780470464731 Look very close to me.
Arcadia
This copy from a library nearby https://cpalo-mt.iii.com/iii/encore/record/C__Rb1112444__SCrossing%20The%20River%20with%20Dogs%3A%20Problem%20Solving%20for%20College%20__Orightresult__U__X4?lang=eng&suite=def Solutions are in the book if I don’t remember wrong. It is currently available so you could swing by that library and look if you are near to that one. We used that library’s copy many years ago.
