ktgrok Posted December 12, 2017 Share Posted December 12, 2017 So, he's doing better!!!!!!!! He is volunteering 3 days a week at a local bird of prey rehab center and loves it! If anything it's his new ASD obsession, which is certainly better than gaming! He's ordered a book about birds of prey to read up more, and researched them on the internet. He is hoping to be able to be one of the people that handles and talks about the Screech Owls soon,a nd move up from there. He has gone every shift without complaint, even this weekend when it was raining and cold and miserable! He's excited to go to a potluck they are having on the 10th of the new year! I'm SO proud of all this! He's also socializing with the family more. He's taking the dog out for walks/runs. He's playing with his siblings rather than ignoring them when he watches them. he even took the neighbor kids with him to the park with my kids! He has socialized with the neighbors, and went to my DH's company holiday party with us (it's a family centered event.) Right now he's at my mom and dad's house, staying with them for a few days to do some fishing and get some time with them. But he wants to be back in time to volunteer on Wednesday as usual :) Now, don't get me wrong. his room is a disgusting mess. Like...hoarders level almost. He hasn't signed up for classes for the spring. He has done some yard work voluntarily but shirked some other stuff. But he seems happy. Our relationship is good.
