mlktwins
Both my boys are sick with fever and sore throats - one is on day 2.5 and one is finishing day 1. They are going to the Dr. tomorrow because I suspect strep in one of them - white spots on his throat and his lymph nodes in his neck are pretty swollen. He is in a lot of pain. Advil every 6 hours ins't cutting it all -- this is my kid who doesn't usually ask for pain meds. When can I rotate in some Tylenol? Starr
They can have both medicines following dosage on packaging. So it’s doubling up overall. I don’t remember the exact dose but you could give one or the other every couple/few hours. Don’t exceed 24 hour amounts. I used to keep a chart so when I was tired I knew what I was doing. I hope everyone is well soon!
slackermom
We give a regular dose of alternating medicines every 3 hours. It could be like this: 7 am, full dose of Tylenol 10 am, full dose of advil 1pm, full dose of Tylenol 4 pm, full dose of advil, etc.
mlktwins
Thank you! I just gave him Tylenol and will do Advil in 3 hours. At least they are drinking lots of fluids.
