Good morning Flyminds!

Welcome to the Flylady support thread. To find out what Flylady is: http://www.flylady.net/ You can also find people on YouTube if you search for it.

We have completed the baby steps found here: http://forums.welltr...nday-october-1/

We have also completed a Building a Control Journal series found here: http://forums.welltr...-16-tue-oct-24/

If you would like to share your small accomplishments on instagram, please do so at #wtmflylady

We will start the baby steps again January 1, 2018! So if you are a lurker, find us then!

Also if anyone wants to do Accountable Kids with me, let me know. I am starting that up again very soon (maybe before the 1st of the year). Using this system with the Flylady system may mean you have a self cleaning house! How wonderful would that be?

This week the Flylady is focused on Zone 3 Bathroom and 1 other room.

Monday - Weekly home blessing - Our mission today is to wipe down cabinets!

Weekly home blessing is spending 10 minutes doing each of these:

  • Vacuuming

  • Dusting

  • quick mop

  • polish mirrors and door handles

  • purge magazines and catalogs

  • change all sheets

  • empty trash.

Today's mission: It is time to clear off the flat surfaces in the bathroom.  This means the edge of the tub, the counter tops and the back of the toilets.  We have a tendency to let things pile up on these areas and usually it is just clutter.  Toss what you can and put away the rest!  Those shampoo bottles, hair ties and cosmetics. You know what belongs!

If you are new to Flylady, there is no better time then today get started on an easy way to keep your house clean! Welcome to our thread!

I've decided to restart my Flylady routine. I still have my control journal from years ago when I moved into this house. I spent some time going through and there isn't much to change. All I have to ignore is the kids' rooms. They are all young adults now and have taken on that responsibility completely. I think I left the zones the way they were but I changed the chores to reflect what I need to do in my own house.

I'm going to start tomorrow although today I did a very thorough cleaning of our hall bathroom. It needed it desperately so I cleaned everything except under the sink. I'll tackle that later. I threw out some old stuff that belonged to youngest dd who hasn't used any of that stuff in years. Why do we hold onto old stuff not being used?

I may join your threads because it's nice to have support from others trying the same thing.

We did the blessing hour today. I make everyone do something and it is done very quickly. My 4 year old wipes door knobs, my 9 year old dusts, DH vacuums, I mop.

We have a pedestal sink and one that is from the 50's that hangs on the wall. So there is nothing on the bathroom counters as we don't have counters. We also don't have "under the sink" either.

Today will be a topsy turvy day. I go to the doctor in the Big City. Just a check up but it takes a big chunk of my day. Dd is going with me and we will go to the special gluten free restaurant in the Big City for her birthday.

I’m 7/16 of the way through my cabinet cleaning project. I hope to get 1/2 way today.

Oh doctors in the city are like that! I always allow at least half the day for me to see my oncologist. Full day if my appointment is in the afternoon. Thankfully it is never in the afternoon anymore. ;) However always remember in the doctor's office (specialists especially) if you are waiting, it is a good thing. It is when you go straight in that you need to worry.

I hope you get another cabinet done! :D

ETA I decided to try something new today. I will put post-it's on our basement door (I don't have any of those so I am using tape and paper but same idea) of things I see around the house that my older son can do instead of ipad. Once they are complete he can get his computer. That is after schoolwork. These things are wiping down a table, bringing in trash can, picking up something and so on.
