medawyn
My kids + nieces and nephews are receiving board games this year for our family Christmas swap. Help me out with ideas for the tiniest tots - my niece will have turned 2 three days before, and I have a 19 month old. Both, of course, always want to be just like the big kids. Puzzles are out, because my SIL is doing puzzles for all the kids.
Elizabeth86
I saw a commericail for Mr. Bucket. I thought that might be a game for a 2 year old. My 2nd ds was able to play hi ho cherry o at 2, but not my oldest or dd. Just depends on what kind of toddler you are working with.
underthebridge
Go Away Monster was much loved when DCs were two years old. Orchard and Zitternix by Haba were well loved as well.
Elizabeth86
Not a game really, but my kids loved first word type flashcards at this age. I don't sit and quiz them, but they just liked looking at them.
vonfirmath
Go Away Monster was much loved when DCs were two years old. Orchard and Zitternix by Haba were well loved as well. My son loved both Go Away Monster and Orchard at age 2. I didn't have him playing games before age 2. He also loved Hiss at just-turned 3 years old. My daughter liked SmartGames Bunny Peek-a-Boo How about the Thinkfun Roll and Play GamE? https://smile.amazon.com/Thinkfun-Roll-Play-Board-Game/dp/B0070A9OUA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1512589722&sr=8-3&keywords=Roll+and+Play

Ailaena
Learning resources have these cute Take 10 games that we've been playing since ds was maybe 20 months? They're perfect! And the bugs and cookies are only $10. The orchard game is fun. We have a matching/collecting game with ducks that go around and I'm desperately trying to remember the name before I finish this sentence.... medawyn
I knew the Hive was the place to come :-) I hate to leave anyone out of the theme.
Xahm
Feed the Woozle (Peaceable Kingdom makes it, I think) can be reasonably played by tots. It has different levels for different ages, so little ones can play with bigger ones.
ashfern
Hungry, Hungry, Hippos is great for that age. Just have to watch if your kiddo puts things in their mouths because of the marbles.

Oh yes another great one. My boys played this one too. They were never bad at putting things in their mouths.

vonbon
Memory (there are some beautifully-illustrated sets; some are larger - like ~60 cards - but we would just take 5 pairs out, for example, to start with for my younger, and then add more pairs in as she gained skill) Spot It! Hi Ho Cherry-O (probably starting at ~3 or 4 years because of counting and small pieces, unless supervised)
medawyn
Just thought I'd update, because I like when people do that :-) For my 19 month old (who's really just getting to tag along on the gift giving thing this year): Seek a Boo. I'm hoping big sibs will like playing it with him, which would be a total mom win. For my niece (2 in Nov): Haba's Animal upon Animal. She's a little more patient and particular than my mack truck of a toddler, and has a 5 yo sister to help her play. Thanks for all the help! (We already own and love Feed the Woozle, A Snail's Pace Race, and Orchard. Also big hits with my 3 and 4.5 yo are Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel and Hoot Owl Hoot, if anyone is looking for late toddler, early preschool games.)
