MasaMama
Has anybody tried it? I'm seriously looking into this for DS, who loves chemistry. He wants to do real chemistry experiments. We are planning to enroll him in homeschool middle school science classes in a couple of years, so meanwhile we need something he can enjoy. I heard that the kits themselves don't have enough information, but they have online materials (video, I think) that have good infomation. I think I don't mind the lack of info so much if the video lessons are engaging. Any feedbacks will be appreciated! Thank you! 4KookieKids
Bumping... Is it really the case that nobody here has tried these and can offer feedback??
SanDiegoMom
Well... I bought them at least. And they are sitting in a large pile reminding me that I spent a ton of money on them but haven't actually used them! I'm hoping to at some point but their interests changed quicker than I thought. I have learned a lesson for sure!
Miss Tick
We had a subscription for a while. I never noticed a lack of information in the kits, and I rarely used the online stuff. Every kit comes with a laminated card with super clear, step-by-step instructions. Everything you need is included. The labs are all pretty standard. I didn't try to align them with the science we were doing at the time, but the topics were all familiar to us. The kits were pricey, but the equipment was top notch. My only quibble was that for a couple of the experiments the votive candle burner just didn't seem to have enough btus to get the job done. I was able to work around or explain around. It isn't meant to be done by the student alone, due to their age, but I found that often minimal supervision was needed. In the end, I just didn't have time to allocate to them and we fell behind - which quickly got more costly than I wanted.
