I received this email from the Director of Admissions at TIU. DC 18 and 15 have been taking courses at TIU this semester and it's been a wonderful experience. TIU is incredibly welcoming to homeschooled students. The Director of Admissions and his wife were both homeschooled. Out of 7 students in our DC’s Music Theory class, 5 were homeschooled.

Dear Homeschooling Families,

We would love to host even more homeschooled students for this event!

Please feel free to share the message below with the appropriate students, parents, group and loops. Any student from any state is welcome. As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

*International students are welcome to apply, too. They can do their interviews via Skype.

Blessings,

Jennifer

Greetings from Trinity International University. I know that many of your students are thinking through the college search process, which is one of the most important decisions they will make. At Trinity, we are committed to serious-minded, thoughtful Christian higher education that seeks to form the hearts and minds of students, who will be used to transform the world for Christ. As many are considering college options, we invite you to encourage them to look at Trinity during our upcoming Presidential Scholars Weekend.

Our annual Presidential Scholars Weekend on January 26-27, 2018. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for the Presidential scholarships (covering tuition, room, board, and required fees), the Regents’ scholarships (full-tuition and required fees), the Dean’s scholarships ($20,000), and the Faculty scholarships ($17,000).

On Friday night, January 26, the Trinity Honors Program will be sponsoring a formal banquet where students and parents will have the opportunity to spend extended time with our faculty and staff. Following the banquet, there will be opportunities for students to meet and engage with current Trinity students. Participants will also have the option to stay in the residence halls that evening with a current student. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, the competition will include interviews with faculty members, group discussions, essays, as well as a lunch for the students. In order to participate, students must complete one of two options:

Option 1:

Apply for admission to the Trinity Honors Program. Students admitted to the Honors Program qualify automatically for the Presidential Scholars Weekend and additional scholarships. You may apply to the honors program at tiu.edu/honors. Applicants must have a 25 ACT and 3.75 GPA or a 28 ACT and a 3.5 GPA with a positive academic recommendation to be considered for admission to the Honors Program.

Option 2:

Students with 28 ACT and a 3.75 GPA may request the opportunity to enter the competition by invitation. Students invited to participate will receive email notification of their selection. You may request an invitation at tiu.edu/scholarshipcompetition.

A Trinity education is built on our Christ-centered mission, a strong liberal arts-based foundation, and a committed faculty who are experts in their discipline. Moreover, we are looking for the best and brightest students to join Trinity’s long tradition of preparing students who will make a difference in the world for the sake of Christ and His church. We look forward to having your students join us for this important weekend on Trinity’s campus.

Cordially,

Jordan Bryant
