Liz CA
I know very little about the GED. This prep material would be for someone taking the GED in CA. I went to their website and gathered some info but they want people to establish an account and I did not want to create a fake account just for more info. Anything else one should know, other than it apparently costs $150...? ETA: The test taker's native language is not English. I think he understands and speaks well enough to take the test but I have not seen a writing sample.
llama
Our local library has GED prep online. We have not personally used it, but you may want to check this option out.
MarkT
https://www.gedtestingservice.com/testers/sample-questions https://www.test-guide.com/free-ged-practice-tests.html http://www.gedpracticequestions.com/ for test samples - not a recommendation either way the test is harder now so make sure you get sample questions for the newer version https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Educational_Development your library should have free stuff
luuknam
Aside from the library, I think in some places it's possible to find GED prep classes - maybe ask advisors at the CC or wherever.
