Treadmill......what should I look for?

I am strongly considering getting a treadmill as I really need to keep up with my walking and now with working almost full time and living where it is dark before and after work I am just not getting it in.

I mostly (ok, almost 99.99% of the time currently) walk at a 3-4mph pace.  I might try jogging/slogging just a bit but it would be a slow thing and for very short time periods if I did.  Mainly I want something I can walk on while I watch a TV show, talk on the phone to a friend in the early morning, listen to an audio book, etc....can you tell this isn't for a serious workout????

Price is a huge consideration and I would love to buy used but I have no idea what I am looking for/at.  The incline sounds nice as I do walk/hike areas with hills in good weather.  I heard that a cushioned track is way better on your joints as well.  What are the must have features for a casual, mostly walking user and what are non needed things for me?  Any good brands or models or ones to avoid?

Again, budget is a big consideration but I don't want to try to save $100 and then get a poor model and not use it if $100 would give me a much nicer treadmill.

I have owned this treadmill for four years; it's pretty bare bones but a great price and works well. I think it is maybe a bit noisier than some higher end models but otherwise isn't really lacking anything I need. I like the fact that it folds up and isn't ridiculously heavy.

I look on Craigslist and then look the model numbers up for reviews. You can usually get a good deal on a sufficient model. My current model is a Nordic Track.

I walk daily on it at 4mph, usually 4 miles a day. I've had it for several years.

Which nordic track do you have? Some models I saw on Craig's list had some fair to poor ratings.
