And, reprinting ideas of my lists from one of those threads here -- I'm doing my best to stretch the gap between age 3 and 11, but many of these really are going to be for age 5 or 6 up through age 12. Movies for a 3yo are tough. And I'll just throw in there that silent comedies are REALLY accessible and enjoyed by most kids! You just have to read aloud the occasional "title card" that pops up from time to time. 🙂

I left off Pixar and newer Disney movies, as most everyone already is familiar with those. 😉

Troop Beverly Hills - DH insisted we watch it with the kids last year, evidently he liked it as a kid.  Was pretty funny :)

Nanny McPhee is great.

Eta: just came back to add Totoro and Song of the Sea, which are the two least cynical, completely 100% clean movies I've seen in years - no adult jokes, nothing.  But they are not infantile, either.  They are lovely movies.   Of course Lori already recommended them because she's excellent at this sort of thread, but I'll add my support :)

Lori, you get extra upvotes for mentioning Megamind, because I love that movie. (Also I love the fandom. The small but dedicated fandom, which has some very nice fic... though not all the fic is kid-appropriate, lol!)

lol! Had no idea Megamind fan-fiction was a thing. :)

A favorite family line from that film is Minion's cheerful "Just a teensy-weensy bit longer... Almost there... Just a few more seconds..." -- when waiting on the progress bar of the evil device to power up, so it doesn't discharge right when Megamind commanded it to.  Quoted frequently here when things are being delayed for some reason... ;)

Also Roxanne Ritchie's smug calmness and responses of: "Predictable. Cliché. Juvenile. Tacky. Seen it. Okay, the spider's new" in the face of Megamind's rising panic of pulling out all of his threatening devices that are failing to shock and awe her.

But what *I* really want to know is... What did caedmyn and kids watch that night?! ;)

Probably one of your suggestions.

We watched Bridge to Terabithia.

Tanaqui: I knew it!  That's why I asked -- more than half the time, the OP finds what fits and it's not anyone's suggestion!   :tongue_smilie:

Caedmyn: Hope you had a great family movie night! :) Warmest regards, Lori D.
