LarlaB
We are going camping for Thanksgiving this year and while I do have an oven (in the camper), I don’t trust it. It’s small and temperamental. So I was pondering other options- like cooking the bone in turkey breast in my slow cooker and broiling to finish. Any experience doing this? Mama Geek
I have done it and it worked out well, just don't over cook it.
AK_Mom4
Consider using a crockpot liner. It makes the Turley breast much more moist. Clean up is easier too. https://www.amazon.com/Reynolds-Slow-Cooker-Liners-4-Count/dp/B002U0KKK8
displace
Turkey breast in the crockpot is easy, and pretty no fail. I do think some crockpots are higher temps than others and can overcook, but a thermometer check is easy. You can just put regular spices on, or a gravy packet. I've never broiled it afterwards because I'm not a skin eater, but that's a good idea.
KungFuPanda
For camping, I think I’d cook at home and just reheat in the oven or crockpot. This way all the prep and prep clean-up are taken care of and you’re pretty much just handling foil packets at camp. Eta foil, not foul Edited November 17, 2017 by KungFuPanda
