Black Friday Deals?

Either QVC or HSN had a deal where you could get a switch bundle and break it into 5? (I think) payments.

We just got a switch and one game bundle. Of course the game turns out to be one of the ones you can't play 2 player unless you have 2 complete controller sets. Still it is kinda cool and we have no other gaming things.

I'm looking for deals on a Nintendo Switch -- so far the best I'm seeing are bundles that are basically full price with a free game.

It looks like it's going to be hard to find a real deal.  I thought for sure they would have come down in price by now.  We had planned on getting each boy a Switch, but now I'm not sure we can, and that is going to put a major kink in my plans for a relaxed and easy Christmas.  (We were going to get them the Switch, but not much else, and I'm not sure I have it in me to start planning other gifts now.  Ugh.)

DH bought this for DD a few weeks ago because he expected it to sell out. I will ask what he thinks about likelihood of price drop (he is up on the tech).

I want a dedicated iPad for school on the road so I've given directions.😂

As soon as I get a chance I'm going to check out the 5 for $5 deals at Ulta. They have already started, but I want to go in person.

I would do this one soon. The pattern at our local store seems to be to have 5 for $5 before Black Friday and then it switches to 5 for $10 with different products. I did 5 for $5 a week or two ago, and then my dds spent some time in Ulta making a wish list and they came home talking about some of the 5 for $5 products (I nailed it on the bubble bath but missed the sponge makeup applicators). So I went back yesterday to get another 5 for $5 (with 3 dds it's not too hard to find 10 things total). I'm holding off on makeup purchases because last year they did a 20% off everything in early December after I'd already purchased stuff full price.

I just left Target with a Switch for the 12 y.o's big ticket X-mas item.  It is the basic model--no discount. He can use his gift money for games.  The salesperson said their stock was selling fast.  If you are getting one, might want  to lock it up before Thanksgiving.

I don't know of good deals, but I tend to get juuuust enough clothes to get the boys through early fall, and then buy all their winter clothes during Black Friday sales. I'm sure there will be general sales on jeans and shirts soon. So, if you're looking for something to buy, clothes can be a good thing.

We're also going to get heated mattress pads for the boys. Those things are always on sale during Black Friday, usually at Kohl's. I haven't looked for sure, yet, but it's rare that they're not for sale on BF.

Care to share how to shop on Black Friday to find the best deals?    To me, there is just so much out there,  I end up not buying anything. It feels like a race, and then I want to compare prices...it just gets to be too much.

For example, tonight, I looked at a full face mask/snorkel.  Well, they gave a range of prices, depending on which style in the one I picked.  It didn't look like the price was cut that much, and I couldn't figure out how the different prices worked on that specific model.  Therefore, I wouldn't know if I was getting a deal or not and gave up.

Am I the only one that feels this way?!!

Etsy is promoting sales via the search feature (a line of search results will be things on sale) and probably a couple of other ways; because they're promoting them more heavily, to the exclusion of non-sale items (because of the search results bit), there should be more sales over there than normal for this time of year.  They're also pushing free shipping pretty hard because they want a cut of the shipping price (they expect sellers to incorporate it into item prices and thus pay them a percentage they were missing before), so you should be able to get free shipping easier.  There's a filter for on sale and a filter for free shipping now.

Etsy: let's hire an Ebay guy and turn into Ebay!  bah.  Good for shoppers, though.

I just got the X Box One Madden bundle for $225 from Best Buy. I know Kohl's has it $190 Black Friday (no Madden bundle though) and the Madden 18 game is $60 by itself. So I feel like I found a good deal but maybe not the Best. And I was worried they'd sell out, so I didn't wanna wait. Several stores are already out of stock.

Re: switch, DH says it won't go on sale and might sell out. Fwiw.

I don't think it will go on sale.

My son saved his money from last year and got a switch bundle from Gamestop this year, he was lucky to even be able to order it.  They are out of stock most of the time.

Go to camelcamelcamel. See the average price if it's on the site.

Go to bfads dot net. Type in product in search. See if you get any matches. May show deals at a few stores.

This is what I did for the IP but I'm pretty confused why Kihls said shop online starting NOW and then their IP online is not the sale ad price yet. I don't want to leave my family on Thanksgiving day to score one.

In previous years the IP has gone on deep sale on Amazon and other places online. So I would just keep my eye out for amazon or Walmart or something.

If you join the Instant Pot Facebook group members will post sales as they see them. Also, a sight like swaggrabber.com posts good deals when they see them.

This is a good article about Walmart deals and what is worth while

https://www.kiplinger.com/article/spending/T050-C011-S001-best-walmart-black-friday-doorbusters-deals-2017.html?rid=EML&rmrecid=1883928744

And don't forget to go through a cash back site like Ebates or Befrugal (if anyone needs a link let me know)

Ebates already raised their cash back to lots of stores.   Wishing I hadn't had put in a few orders a week ago.  :(

My 10 year old wants the Switch. We decided "Not this year" There just don't seem to be enough games out there I'd be okay with him playing.

So after talking to him WHY the Switch -- being able to play games multi-player and the Mario Brothers games. HE decided the Mario Brothers games were not a deal breaker and he wants an XBox instead. There's a lot more games for that so we're looking to do that instead

Could you explain how these cash back sites work?

Could you explain how these cash back sites work?

You register at their site (we mostly use ebates) and then go to the site before you shop and click on the link for the store you want to use.  It will tell you how much cash back you can earn and also show available codes for that store.  You then shop from their link and receive cash back several times a year (they send a check every few months).  We've received a lot of money from ebates.  You can also sign up to just go to the store online and the ebates offer will be there for you to click on.

If you sign up, be sure to check to see if you know someone already using it - ebates will give you and the person you sign up with a referral bonus.  If you don't know anyone, please pm me and I'll refer you and we'll both get a bonus!

I really hesitated before getting the 12 y.o. the Switch because of the lack of games.  He already has a Playstation with lots of stuff.  But he had a big growth spurt, and we had to update his golf clubs, tennis racket, shoes and apparel mid year; not to mention the 20 degree camping gear he just got for a school excursion. Simply, ran out of ideas for x-mas. Hope the Switch game options  improve.

You go to their site before you shop online.  And some sites work in person stores too.

It is so easy and it is legit.  We have gotten so much back.  I just got a check back from Ebates yesterday.   Little bits all together add up to something pretty decent.

You can have it sent in a check. Paypal or they give you even more if you get in a giftcard to certain stores.

You get a bonus just for joining and making usually a $25 buck purchase.  You get $10 bucks.   Let me know if you would like a referral to either Ebates or Befrugal

If Xbox 360 works, and you have a gamestop nearby, they'll be doing one for $60 on blackfriday with a $60 mail in rebate.
