mommyoffive
Do you dress up for Halloween?
Word Nerd
Usually but only if I feel like it. I’m going to this year because I have a fun idea. Last year I couldn’t think of anything so I didn’t dress up.
rebcoola
Yes usually last year I was plague patient. This year I'm think the "Fat Lady" from Harry Potter.
Katy
No.
JudoMom
Nope. I've never really enjoyed dressing up, though.
Dmmetler
I usually do, at least minimally. This year, DD is a Pokemon trainer and DH and I are both being Pokemon-which means adding ears/tail to an existing outfit.
Mommyof1
Not usually but if the situation arose, maybe.
OneStepAtATime
Depends on if I feel like it. If I don't feel like it, I toss on my Tales from the Crypt t-shirt and my torn up jeans. And I don't comb my hair. LOL
TechWife
I don't normally, but since Halloween falls on my scheduled volunteer day at the children's hospital, I should this year. We are doing a super heroes theme with some special guests. There will be a parade in the afternoon.
J-rap
No, unless I'm going to a costume party, which probably happens once every ten years.
displace
I try to, but minimal easy outfits. Medieval outfit, Star Wars light saber person, this year a butterfly (just cap wings).
medawyn
Some years. This year I'm going as crabby, tired, pregnant lady. It's shockingly authentic.
regentrude
I wear a black skirt and a witch hat to class. The students have come to expect it. A few years ago, one was waiting outside the classroom, and, upon seeing me come down the hallway, ran inside and shouted "I was right!" regentrude
I love this....both your costume and the reaction the students had to it. Very cool!! Feel free to post a picture this year (and make sure you somehow tag me/let me know so i don't miss it. oh, and I also bring candy. At least if it's my smaller class of only 45. Handing out candy to 300 would be a logistical challenge.
SparklyUnicorn
I generally don't, but I bought a pair of Halloween themed leggings. I guess I was feeling whimsical at that moment.
regentrude
You are just too cool. Seriously. What grade do you teach? College :)
Wheres Toto
We did last year and will this year because we're doing a car at a Trunk or Treat event. We set up a Mad Science lab so we where the lab coats we have from 4-H and safety googles. Dh also had a crazy Einstein wig last year but dd freaked out and hated it on him. I mean, really went nuts. It surprised us quite a bit that she hated it so much.
Julie Smith
Yes, every year. I always wear my wedding dress.
Cecropia
Yes! I have almost finished my Sid the Sorcerer costume (Disney Sorcerer's Apprentice). The baby will be Mickey Mouse in a red robe and we'll take a play broom with us.
EMS83
Nah. Just not my thing. :)
duckabell
I will wear a costume to a costume party. Sometimes I wear one for our church's trunk-or-treat. Usually my costumes are simple like a dress and a witches hat or a flannel shirt and pigtails. I rarely dress up the day of Halloween. mommyoffive
Yes, every year. I always wear my wedding dress. Way to get a use out of it! And go you on still fitting in it. I would be afraid of the tears of it not fitting. I did get weighed a few weeks back (i have never owned a scale) and I was less than I was before I got pg with my first kid. Julie Smith
Way to get a use out of it! And go you on still fitting in it. I would be afraid of the tears of it not fitting. I did get weighed a few weeks back (i have never owned a scale) and I was less than I was before I got pg with my first kid. I just don’t do up zipper at the back, at least not all the way up. I can get it up, but then breathing isn’t fun. I always safety pin it shut, and wear a sweater or wings, or something over my back. My thought was it cost 200 dollars or so. It is th most expensive piece of clothing I will likely ever buy, I might as well use it, again, and again, and again.
foxbridgeacademy
Yes, but nothing extravagant, usually I'm a cat. Halloween is my favorite holiday, always has been.
Tap
I will dress up if I work that day. My most recent is an 80s rocker.
rainbowmama
If the kids can agree on a family theme
QueenCat
For parties, yes, but those are typically not held on Halloween. They are usually on a Saturday before Halloween.
alisoncooks
I just settled that DH and I are going to be Sully and Mike Wazowski. And I just realized I have only a week to make our costumes. And finish the kid's costumes. Gah.
Seeking Squirrels
I didn't until the past few years. Now I do! I haven't chosen which one I'll wear this year. I have Black Canary, the TARDIS, and Osgood ready to go from ComicCon. My next cosplay is going to be either Merlin or Isolde, I haven't decided yet. Either one won't be ready by Halloween, though. Maybe Osgood for Halloween, it's warmer than the others I have ready! Although....the kids are going as Darth Vader and Chewie, so maybe I should try to throw together a SW one..... elegantlion
I have for the last few years, but we're a nutty bunch. We dressed for talk like a pirate day too. I'll probably do my medieval outfit again, maybe.
DesertBlossom
In college I worked at a glorified telemarketing company that "required" us to dress up for Halloween. My boss was ticked when I didn't dress up so I tols him I was an undercover police officer. (He was unimpressed) I have been the same thing every year since. HS Mom in NC
It's about 50%. I have a medieval tunic that I've worn for years, but not every year.
KungFuPanda
Sometimes I do. This year I'm lucky. I perform in a Halloween dance show, then go directly to an unrelated Halloween party. I'll be in costume already, so it's a win. I don't mind BEING dressed up, but I rarely enjoy the process of GETTING dressed up.
xixstar
Normally yes, in some kind of outfit. My spouse has a set costume he always wears and this year I wanted to make something that coordinates with that. Instead, I got the idea to dress up as a Carebear since that is what my toddler is going to be. I think the idea had a lot more merit when it was just a concept, versus the reality -- that is a whole lot of pink to be wearing, I've realized. Oh well - costume is made and it makes nice pyjamas for the winter. Hopefully I will make a costume by next year that will be my every year costume.
