Accountability Thread 10/22-10/28

Recommended Posts

Must be a sports night. The boys, DH and I watched the first disc on Ken Burn's Baseball saga, borrowed from the library, since there is no baseball action until Tuesday. Somehow, I don't think we'll get through the first five discs I borrowed by then. The whole thing is 10, and each is about 145 min long.

I love Ransom of Red Chief. My 13 yo dd read it earlier this year. It had been a while for me and I had forgotten how delightful it is!

Good Morning! I was a bad teacher last week. Really light week, very little work done, no real reason. We were supposed to have SIL over, so I did quite a bit of cleaning, but not enough to justify my lack of work. And then, SIL didn't even come over. *sigh* Wound up giving myself major anxiety last night over it, and couldn't get to sleep because all I could think about was how I was ruining my kids education for life. Blah.

So today, I am determined we are going to work hard. And continue to do so all week. I spent lots of time planning our work for the next several weeks and I am going to put all that planning to use. I got everyone up and dressed, we were going to start out by taking a walk, but.....it just started raining.

Anyway, on tap for school

DS5-

Letter of the week

ETC

MEP

Reading

Thinking Skills

DD7-

Daily Math

ETC

MIF

SW

Reading

TTL

DD8-

Daily Math

ETC

MIF

SW

Reading

Roots

Writing

Problem Solving

And then for everyone I have a Mummy story to read to do some activities with this week. After we are done with school, I just need to gather some supplies for tomorrow.

Non school stuff, I need to go to the bank to make a deposit and do some transfers and other banking, and I also need to take back some light bulbs that I bought yesterday but don't work.

I am not feeling good today, but we have got to get moving. I am tired, it's that time of the month, etc.

We all have weeks like that! Don’t beat yourself up. This week will be a good one—I can tell by your determination! [emoji1373]

There are times when the creative mind needs rest. Kids and teachers benefit from it, I find. I bumped up our next week break to next week from mid November because everyone here is needing that time to relax, write, draw, get outside in the good fall weather and just generally rest.

We’re done. I’m DONE. Lots of bickering today, some attitude (theirs and mine [emoji13]), and a major meltdown from one of the youngers. All things considered, it has been a good school day, nevertheless. [emoji13]

Now I have to go do all the stuff for co op tomorrow. I’m always SO energetic when I volunteer to teach these great classes, and then I’m all [emoji43] when it’s time to prep weekly. [emoji13]

Good morning

Happysmileylady-so glad your dh didn't break his ankle and hope it heals soon.

Critter-do you know of all the puppies found homes? Are you doing nanowrimo this year?

Our day will run much the same as yesterday, at least I hope it will. Yesterday was a pretty good day, youngest got all of his work accomplished and guitar practice done by 2 and that's with a ton of breaks. Oldest did ok as well, not everything eats done but we worked hard and accomplished much.

Today's schedule

Devotional

Latin

Math

Composition/grammar/spelling

Literature

Christian studies

Recitation

Science tutoring for oldest and guitar lesson for youngest. Mid week service and bed. I joined a book club and am hoping to read at least one chapter tonight.

Co op classes!

Most of what we're doing today is review and oral work so, it shouldn't be too hard. I think the hardest part will be the music practice because we got some new songs yesterday.

Because of the move, we are still in "getting things together" mode. Today we accomplished buying outfits for the Greek Bazaar and new clothes several of the kids. Tonight, it'll be more OneNote set up and scheduling, as well as some minor cleaning. I think the move is catching up with me and I'm coming down with a cold.
