Hilltopmom
Ds is taking an online college Spanish 1 class this semester as his first fl experience (I know, I know, but it’s just how things worked out). He doesn’t really want to continue it next semester as the all online assignments from my Spanish lab isn’t the best. He may change his mind and continue just to have it over, I dunno. Right now he’s leaning to no. He needs to continue with some sort of Spanish next semester, but I’m ok with a check the box high school program. If his college winds up requiring it ( about half do and half don’t on his list), he’ll take it again at the beginner level there. (I’m viewing this semester as high school fl for him. If it transfers great if not, ok) So, any recommendations for continuing Spanish after college intro to Spanish? For a kid who is not in the least bit interested in a fl? Duo lingo paired with some workbook? Ideas? (As far as amount of fl required in high school, I put on his applications for expected courses spring semester that he’ll continue Spanish at either the college or high school level, so I think we’re ok there) Edited October 20, 2017 by Hilltopmom
RootAnn
Well, there is Easy Peasy High School Spanish 2. You could do it all by itself or combine it with some italki convos (once per week) or Spanish 121 (once per week). He'd want to ignore the "day" recommendations on Easy Peasy's list & just do it for a certain amount of time per day. If he does the italki/Spanish 121 option, that day's work would just be the conversation practice. Homeschool Spanish Academy would be another option. It is very low time intensity from a homework standpoint. He'd want to take enough lessons to count for all of Spanish 2, I'd assume. They'll give him a placement test & he can go from there.
