I tried a Roomba a few years ago wasn't impressed. Anyone have the new ones? With High-efficiency cleaning, room mapping, phone app control?

Which one do you have? What do you love about it? (Do I need this in my life, or do I just need to train my kids better?)

I have an 800 series one. I love, love it. The new style all-rubber beater bars don't collect hair like the old style ones.

I LOVE it.

I have a ridiculously large house, so I don't really get hung up on if it makes it back to its base or whatever --  I just relocate it as needed. I just love that it vacuums for me. The only caveat is keeping stuff off the floor that might get it tangled up or jammed up -- earbuds, socks, random pieces of paper, etc.

So Steph... In a larger space, how exactly does it work?  Do you HAVE to program it? Can you just let it loose and will it just bop around happily all on its own? We have multiple indoor cats with tile and hardwood surfaces downstairs, so my mantra would be "Just.Start.Vacuuming.Somewhere!"    How steep is the learning curve to operate it?   I am starting to judiciously guard my few remaining brain cells... Will it just run and run until it runs out of juice? How long does it take to recharge?  Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

We have the 700 so a little older but Bought I would chime in. Our roomba ran until it literally wore out its little wheels. It was running on just the plastic rims. DH recently order new wheels for Roomba and he is back in business!

He does a fabulous job cleaning up dog hair from our two fluffy and heavy-shedding dogs. We’ve traced the battery once as well as those do wear out.

We have the little boxes that sit in doorways to keep roomba out of the bathrooms and they work well.
