SKL
So my girls have this mutation as well as some others, according to Genetic Genie. I'm researching the implications. I was wondering - if a child has this kind of issue, would it result in learning problems getting worse and worse over time? And would that sort of trend be reversible? Guest
Learning issues were come and go for me, not supplementing mostly affected verbal and visual memory retreival, processing, and visualization ability. Sequencing was also affected when my b12 was very low. It gets worse when b12 is low, hormones fluctuate, and folate is blocked by folic acid. Reversble, yes with correct supplements and nutrition for me.
Crimson Wife
Behavior Balance DMG (includes methyl folate) and methyl B12 shots helped my SN child. MTHFR wasn't listed on her whole exome sequencing results but I'm not sure if that's because hers are normal vs. MTHFR variants being so common that they only listed the rare mutations she has (which are in different genes).
