maize
I got stung by a wasp yesterday, and of course it itches like crazy today. I can calm the itching temporarily with heat (run it under really hot water or heat a wet rag in the microwave) but is there anything that works better? MotherGoose
Hydrocortisine cream, Benadryl cream, have heard windex works. In the future, keep tobacco around and wet a little and apply to sting for about an hour immediately after the sting. It pulls out the poison. I don't smoke but keep plain tobacco, no additives, around for this purpose. I was stung by a hornet a couple of months ago and it really hurt, but I put tobacco on for an hour and, aside from mild bruising, had no more discomfort and NO itching. MEmama
Baking soda mixed with a touch of water to form a paste works for most things here.
MercyA
Hydrocortisone cream or Benadryl gel

maize
I found the benadryl gel in my first aid drawer, I'd forgotten I had it until it was mentioned here. That has helped a lot!
mmasc
Benadryl by mouth helps a lot. Of course, if it makes you sleepy like it does me, I’d only take it at bedtime. But it does help!
lovinmyboys
Sending sympathy. I got stung a few weeks ago, and oh my the itching. Way worse than the initial sting! Hoping hydrocortisone cream and Benadryl help!

Do you know if this works for fire ant stings, too? The ants seem to love my legs. Benedryl works ok, but if tobacco prevents the intense itching, I'll go get some tomorrow!
