Life After the Review and Submit Button

I do not think I realized how much emotional weight that common app submission carries. I submitted all of my requirements (transcript, profile, counselor letter, course descriptions etc...) and feel so much lighter. I think it is a scary prospect that 12 years of choosing to take-on the huge responsibility of educating my child gets boiled down into one application. The whole "this is it!, this is what we have been working for from the beginning" is a big deal.

So it is done...submitted, the big decisions will be left up to the schools and I can just sit back and support my kid through what comes next (and drink lots of wine).

I agree!!  I have to say that the whole process was much more pleasant than I had expected.  Looking at everything all together, the culmination of our homeschool, was very rewarding.  We're always focusing on the semester or year at hand; it was really encouraging to see it all put together on that one transcript.  And then after working hard on all those documents (me with my stuff, and DS with his essays), it is very satisfying to know that DS has been presented in the best, most accurate way we could - wherever he gets in or doesn't get in, we know we did our best and will trust the process.
