Mama Geek
I figured out last night that I have got to quit drinking caffeine by mid day. I am usually up in the middle of the night for a few hours, but yesterday I didn't drink any caffeine after about 11:00. I woke up long enough to use the restroom and went back to bed and went back to sleep very easily.
SparklyUnicorn
It's weird for me. Sometimes I can drink coffee near bedtime and sleep like a rock. Other times if I drink it in the afternoon I'm awake. I don't get it. My husband drinks decaf in the afternoon because it effects him a lot.

Then some nights I'm physically and mentally jumpy and I haven't had caffeine since the early morning.
Guest
I'm the same way. I've always been very sensitive to caffeine. I can have it in the morning, and even into early afternoon, but that's it for me for the day. My late mil used to drink caffeinated tea every night around 9pm. I have no idea how she slept. Acadie
I think we all have the gene for slow caffeine metabolism. I drink a strong cup of decaf in the morning and that's it. Any more caffeine than that and I'm up at night! I fought it for a long time but have learned to just accept this about myself. Amy
Ann.without.an.e
Having a cut off time is vital. For me, I know that I can't drink it after 2 in the afternoon. Last night I drank a cup of strong coffee at 6:00 and guess what? I got in bed at 2 AM and laid awake until 6 AM :banghead:

On weekends i have coffee at 5:00 pm and can sleep well if I drink lots of water after that - in my case, lots of water seems to flush caffeine out of my system- on days that I forget to drink water after late coffee, I hit Netflix all night long and feel like crap in the morning - like today :(
