He used to need time release pills, but, my goodness, this type is more effective for him! I have a giant stash, because when we run out and have to use the (time release) pill form that we can buy locally - its agony. There's something magic about the sub lingual intro to the body, for him. I don't know if this would help your teen, and it's not what you asked for, but thought I would share, as it's helped my teen tremendously.
