I know regular SAT scores taken by middle schoolers are deleted unless you ask hem to save it. What about subject tests? If my middle schooler attempts an SAT subject test, does it get automatically deleted as well unless I ask them to save it? Or are those the part of the permanent record?

Yes, they also get deleted unless you request in writing to have the scores retained.

Deleted. Your child also needs a photo ID.

"If you’re in the eighth grade or below you should not include a photo with your registration. However, you will need to have an acceptable photo ID to be admitted to the test center. There are also special rules about scores for eighth graders and below — keep reading.

Scores for Eighth-Graders and Below

If you test in the eighth grade or below, your scores are removed from your file at the end of the academic year you tested."
