OnMyOwn
These are optional. Do most people answer them? These are not going to help us because we are not in a minority group. I am mostly concerned that the religion my ds identifies with (baptist) will possibly hurt him at a couple of more liberal colleges he is applying to. Part of me says that if they don't want him because of that, it's for the best. On the other hand, one of these schools offers a program that isn't offered anywhere else in our state that he is interested in and another is close enough to drive to if he decided he prefers to live at home. OnMyOwn
The further i get into this thing, the more invasive it feels! How annoying.
Hilltopmom
I was annoyed too. No need to give info about my own college experiences, siblings, or where we work, IMO. I filled out required things but not optional ones.
DawnM
It lists Baptist as a religion? Interesting. The colleges we are looking at don't use the common app. Oh well.
Chanley
It was my understanding that the religion question was to help the student find their on-campus affiliated religious group by giving their email to that group.
