Pre-algebra by Teaching Textbooks

Please bear with me today, I have lots of questions in my head and suddenly a little time to prepare for the next year :)

I remember I heard that this program is very deep and great for a development of the mathematical mind. Is someone of you using it? I am choosing between Pre-algebra AoPS and Teaching Textbooks.

You must be thinking of AoPS.  The reputation of Teaching Textbooks is not deep and not great for the development of the mathematical mind.  These programs are opposites.

Unless their scope and sequence changed since I looked a couple of years ago, TT's Algebra 1 doesn't cover quadratic equations. That speaks volumes to me

I have a friend who used TT with her older two who are in college now and switched to Jacob's with her following two. She said it's like night and day in the depth of coverage.

I know TT is not known for depth. But I just had to throw in that I had a kid who hated math before we switched to TT. She loved math afterwards and even considered math as a major. She scored 750 out of 800 on her math SAT section. Just FYI! Different Strokes for different folks...

We were using Saxon and switched to TT at pre-algebra.

Thanks for everyone for your helpful comments. In the end I think I had a mistake. It's not Teaching Textbooks I was thinking about, but Elements of Mathematics Foundation. What about this one?

To be honest I have decided that DS takes AoPS. We looked at the book and he left very satisfied with it, but I would still love to hear any comments about that program. Who know maybe once I will decide taking it for my little one :)
