Hmm, that's a great question. I am not sure....he finally loves reading and I just want him to read quality books. He recently went through Heroes in Training and Lemonade Wars and while I like the subject and thought it was fun reading, I don't consider that "good literature". So I guess I was hoping to have a combination of something like that is fun and interesting but also something that will start slowly introducing classics?? My kids pick their own free reading and I assign reading from books that match what they're learning about in history. Julie of KY Posted August 18, 2017 Share Posted August 18, 2017 I'd look at lists from WTM, ambelside, Sonlight, Winter Promise, Veritas, etc. Just pick good books that sound good if you aren't trying to tie them into your curriculum. displace Posted August 18, 2017 Share Posted August 18, 2017 I use the MENSA book lists, but we do most books as read aloud so. Book Shark has great quality books. For free reading I'd encourage anything. There are also formal textbook literature reading programs. K12 tends to have good literature selections.
