ScoutTN
The book intro says that there will be 4 levels. Does anyone know how fast the next 3 workbooks will be published? How does this correspond to the WTMA classes, all 4 of which are using the GFTWTM level 1 workbook and all of which are only 1 semester long. I had my student take the placement test for the online classes and she easily scored into the third level. So should we still begin with level 1 of GFTWTM? Sorry if this has been asked and answered already. I know there are several threads about GFTWTM, but I did not see this addressed.
NormaElle
From what I understand, it's a four year program that you can start at any point, but should go through all four. Books 3-4 may be more vague but not enough that it matters when you start (like if you're adding more kids). I don't really get how that works, but that's what the intro materials said. I have the first six weeks download and have read it. Doesn't answer my question.
purpleowl
In the six-week sample, you can see the table of contents for the whole book. If you look at the posted syllabi for the WTMA courses and compare them with the TOC, it looks like the Basic course covers weeks 1-14 in GFTWTM, Intermediate covers weeks 15-21, and Advanced covers weeks 22-36. All of that is in Level 1. All of that will also be in each of the other levels. From the six-week sample: You’ll go over the same dialogue, the same rules, and the same examples—with an entirely fresh set of exercises for the student to practice on. This combination of repeated information along with new and challenging exercises will truly begin to build the student’s competence in the English language.

I hadn't thought to look at the syllabi except to see that they were all using the new book. I needed to read more carefully. So I guess if my kid tested into the Intermediate level, we'll zip through the first 14 chs. quickly and begin to dig in at chapter 15.
