I haven't used the book, but ......

this organization has several resources for teaching economics to kids and they offer some free lesson plans tied to literature.  (Again - I haven't actually used it.)

Here's a huge list of free lesson plans that tie economics & kiddie lit.  https://www.stlouisfed.org/education

@rjand4more...

I was considering if for maybe 4th to 6th grade or 5th/6th. Does it work for that? I'm also contemplating play dough economics as well.

Ha!  I had planned both Econ through Lit and Playdoh Econ for my middle school class.  Turned out my high school class was older kids.  I bought some things off of teachers Pay Teachers.  it went well.

There is a Playdoh activity suggestion for each lesson in Econ through Lit.

I think your grades 4-6 would be perfect.

There is a unit using Lawn Boy(Gary Paulson) for grades 6-8 floating around.
