Which edition of Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics?

I am going to use  Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics and the lectures from The Great Courses as part of an Economics course for dd. I already have the 3rd edition of the book. Do I need to update to the 5th edition?

I don't know about Sowell in particular, but I have taught AP econ using an old edition of the McConnell-Brue text (that cost me $1 + shipping) and then helped out another child who took it in a b&m high school using a more recent edition (which undoubtedly cost the school district way more than $1), and the only differences were in the examples.  They had been updated with more recent dates and dollar amounts, but there was almost no substantive difference.  Economics is pretty much economics.

I don't think you need to update. He's updated to reflect more recent happenings, but I don't know that it is that important to have. Just my opinion.

Thank you all! I'm leaning towards just going with the 3rd edition. I compared the questions for each, and while there are some useful ones in the 5th ed missing from the 3rd, the reverse is true as well.
