ExcitedMama
In the other thread about reading a lot of people suggested loading a Kindle with books. I wanted to do this for my voracious reader with my old Kindle, but how do I stop him being able to access my library? My books would not be appropriate (I'm looking at you ASOIAF) and he's the type that will try to figure that out instead of just being happy with his books. Renai
You have to create an account for him through the Family Accounts option in Settings. You'll need to put a password on your account to do so. Then, you just add the books you want to his account. I have two accounts for my daughters and different books for both of them. Hope this helps.
CadenceSophia
I did it slightly differently and just didn't give access to the cloud, good reads or the experimental browser when setting parental controls. That way I can send whichever books I want my kids to have directly from the website and they can't get anything else.
Cake and Pi
I did like Renai and set up child accounts for each of my boys. They only have access to the books that I select through the settings. Beware: my 5yo figured out some back door or glitch or something and can get into the settings without my parent password or his lock-screen password, neither of which he knows (and I change frequently). I don't know if newer models have the same issues, but I am not happy with the security on ours from 2015.
ExcitedMama
My old one is pretty old but I'm not sure of the year. Do the parental settings work on a regular Kindle that's previously been set up?
kiwik
I just put what I want on their kindles and lock access to cloud, internet and kindle store. The only problem is I sometimes get my stuff sent to the wrong place and have to remove it.

kiwik
Under settings there are parental controls where you can set a password.
