Earthmerlin
Any recommendations on social studies based kits &/or subscriptions--boxes or magazines? This would be for a 7-8 yr old. I don't have any specific subjects I want to cover. I just want to bulk up this broad discipline & am just seeing what's out there. Thanks! Earthmerlin
OK, so if there aren't many 'open & go' 3rd grade social studies options, do you have an idea or 2 as to other comprehensive S.S. resources?
Syllieann
Studies weekly is aligned to state standards. Moving beyond the page is also aligned to standards. I haven't used the social studies of either, just tossing it out there since nobody has chimed in with other options.

macmacmoo
When I think of social studies I think of state and country studies. So I'll toss out wee folk arts new country studies https://homeschoolcompanion.com/curriculum-themes-guides/cultural-connections-overview/cultural-france-kenya-japan/ I've only done their preschool curriculum And Memoria press state and capitals. The rest is me goofing off on the internet so can't vouch for them lol: Highlight has something called top secret adventures https://www.highlights.com/store/puzzle-book-clubs/top-secret-adventures homeschool co-op has a thing where can order it in regional bundles and not have it be a subscription https://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org/highlights-travel-adventures/ Core knowledge has from free units https://www.coreknowledge.org/curriculum/download-curriculum/ https://culturedowl.com/collections/all Is a country box by mail Lakeshore learning has some pricey social studies boxes
Earthmerlin
Wow, I've got quite a few leads from your posts. Thanks! Does anyone have a review of Digs mag or History Unboxed, by chance?
Jackie
Wow, I've got quite a few leads from your posts. Thanks! Does anyone have a review of Digs mag or History Unboxed, by chance? My daughter gets Dig magazine (as well as nearly everything else from that company...) and really likes it. I've drooled over History Unboxed for a while now, but haven't pulled the trigger because of the cost. I'd be interested in reviews!
