maize
We think our cat was stung by a wasp--yesterday be had a swollen lump on the side of his face and apparently last night he scratched at it so much that now he has a bloody sore instead. I put some antibiotic ointment on it, I'm wondering what else I can do. Do pet stores sell head cones? Has anyone had luck keeping those on a cat (if memory serves last time we had one it was off within 30 minutes)? OneStepAtATime
Yes some pet stores sell cones (I have found some that didn't). It can take some experimenting to find the best size and way to attach so they can't get it off.

JFSinIL
Cone of Shame, alas. You may need to tie one to a collar otherwise Kitty WILL figure out how to remove it (ask me how I know this, with Fidget, the Self-Gutting Cat). OK - Fidget was fine. but half way home from the vet after she was "fixed" she had removed half her stitches and her innards were right there. U-Turn, doc stapled (MEOW!!!) her shut and had us get a Cone of Shame. Which we watched her wiggle out of so had to get a buckled-one snug cat collar to tie it too. Whew!
