Shopping for used car

Just shoot me now!

DS totaled his car this week. He's fine other than a scratch and minor bruises. The passenger cabin of the 2005 Honda CRV held up remarkably well in a rollover. For that reason, I'd love to get a similar vehicle for him, but the newer CRV's are larger. I have one and none of us like it for that reason. Anyhow - does anyone have a Crosstour? What do you think of it?

Thank goodness your son is ok, and that the CRV did its most important job in keeping him safe!

How recent is your CRV? We don't own one, but my sense from what I see on the road is they got bigger at some point after 2005, and now they're trending smaller again. Don't know anything about the Crosstour.

Good luck with your search. We're used car shopping this week after our 2002 Camry finally gave up the ghost at 233,000 miles!

I think the 2006 was the first larger one. Mine is a 2015.

That's great mileage on the Camry! The 2005 CRV had 165,000 on it. We were looking forward to a few more years!

I don't have any car advice for you, but I'm so glad your son is okay -- it sounds like that accident was very scary!!!

Thank you! We are beyond grateful. I have no idea why these pictures are posting sideways! You can see in the side picture that the passenger cabin is almost untouched, though. The roof doesn't start to cave in until it's over the rear of the vehicle.

Yowza. I did notice that the crv had gotten larger. We test drove one a couple of years ago. I found the seats to be uncomfortable. ..the part you sit on seemed to be too short and I found that my legs felt tired and tense after the short test drive. Other than that, it seemed like a nice car. We ended up with a 2013 Ford Escape. I love it.
