Ugh reporting bad AP scores

So I read last night that all AP scores need to be reported to colleges. Is this true? DD took 3 this year and got two 2s and a 4 (2s were in Bio and APUSH; 4 was Eng Lang & Comp) Not sure what the heck happened there. The AP tests were taken when she had lots of other testing/studying going on, ie SATs, ACTs, finals) Anyway, she's most likely going in as an English major. How bad is this going to hurt her? She got a B in both classes. As for her other stats, she takes all honors and AP classes, has a 3.7 GPA, a 1260 SAT, and a 30 ACT (won't be sending her SAT scores) She's retaking the ACT in September and will hopefully improve that score. She has good but not great ECs, three Varsity sports, volunteer work, some leadership roles, and a PT job. Thoughts about these low AP scores? Can these be retaken, and if so, how would we go about doing that?

You don't have to report AP scores.  The tests can be retaken in May 2018 when the tests are offered again.

Good luck in the application process!

ETA: I would only bother retaking the AP tests if the college your D was matriculating to awarded credit for those exams.  Otherwise, there would be no point since she is a senior this year.

So I read last night that all AP scores need to be reported to colleges. Is this true?

There is "Score Withholding" and "Score Cancellation" options for AP score reports. However as your daughter is in a parochial high school, her AP scores might be in her high school transcript depending on the school. Her SAT and ACT scores may also be on her high school transcript depending on when she took them.

"Score Withholding

You can withhold one or more scores from the college specified on your registration answer sheet (the first answer sheet you filled out) or from any other college to which you want to send a score report. The score will be withheld from any future score reports sent to that particular college. A request to withhold a score does not permanently delete your score. You may later release the score to that college by sending AP Services a signed written request. There is no charge to release scores.

Score Cancellation

Canceling your AP Exam score permanently deletes it — it cannot be reinstated at a later time. Scores may be canceled at any time. Once you request a cancellation, the exam will not be scored, and a score for that exam will never be available. (Archived scores cannot be canceled.) While there is no fee for this service, your exam fee is not refunded." https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores/score-reporting/

ETA:

My district use an online grade book system so every test score is there.

I agree with a previous poster: AP scores don't have to be reported. Since they'll see AP classes on her transcript, they'll either assume the scores were low or the tests weren't taken, but there is no obligation on your part to report. My daughter had a 2 (AP Chem). We won't be reporting it and honestly, it is an accurate reflection of her mastery of the material- she'll definitely need to begin with gen chem I in college. I think with a 30 ACT or better and a 3.7 GPA, she'll likely be fine at all but the most selective colleges.

Thanks all, I feel a little bit better. Is there a way to report her 4 in APELC or is it an all or nothing thing? Her top choice is a selective school, Hamilton. They say they take the highest scores for admission purposes. Not sure if they break out the different subjects, especially depending on intended major, but if they do, she has a 690 in English on her SAT, a 30 on her ACT English and a 35 on her ACT Reading, as well as the 4 on APELC. So she's fairly strong in English. Do you think she should report just the one AP score or just bag them all together? Also, someone mentioned that her transcript might list the scores. Is it within reason to ask her guidance counselor to not include them or to include only one?
