QueenCat Posted July 19, 2017 Share Posted July 19, 2017 I bought this shirt. It looks GREAT on me. As in, makes me really look slimmer. But the wrap keeps falling on the bottom, exposing half of a bOokshelf. I want to be able to wear this shirt.... Things I've tried include the following. A decorative pin (looks like a safety pin, with a pretty head, about 3 inches long). It pulled the shirt v down for way too much exposure, it has to go dead center for it to actually keep the material together and not look funny. I've tried Hollywood Fashion Tape. It works okay on one side but there is too much pull from the bOok on the other and it separates from the church. What I haven't tried: a smaller plain safety pin but I don't know how to do this without it being visible, which would look dumb. I think a cami would be too hot at this time of year, plus won't it take away from the slenderizing look the shirt gives me? And dh loves the look! Any ideas? IF you can do both, then just use a needle and thread to stitch the neckline where the two pieces join. That way the problem is solved permanently. My bustline is rather low on my body, even with the right bra. (I'm tall with a long torso). I love wrap styles but they rarely hit just right. I must be sewing challenged. I've even done it on a few sweaters that just had a gap between buttons, and managed to get it messed up every time. Wrap shirts are great on me, but I seem to have to wear them with an under shirt or camisole, which sort of defeats the purpose of the wrap. (Sorry, no suggestions, although as someone with weird proportions I've always wondered if the tailor down the street from us would think it crazy for me to bring in my cheap clothes for alterations, and also if it would be reasonable...) That's great when we're home alone ;) But the old man at Walmart got quite a show when I wore out the other day, when I thought I'd fixed the issue with the fashion tape.
