Don't really know where it comes from, but it sounds cute to German ears (wondered each time I read something posted by you!). "Fritz" used to be a common name one to two generations back, coloqually it's still used in combination with other words, to mean somebody who's really into something does something a lot. "Sniggle" might be Friesan (north-German dialect, close to Dutch) and there I could only guess, I'm southern German.
