No, they're not. But thanks for asking...

I posted already that, by Monday morning 9Am, my child was in his room for most of the day. (He ended up staying an hour, and CHOSE to do his work in his room! yeah!)

Tuesday, he didn't complain as much. And we also got through the workload.

Today, he even said his Latin assignment was fun! But he whined all through his violin class. Even though all week long he kept saying "I'm looking forward to violin!" Whine whine whine...

I'm still analyzing the situation. And I'm realising that it comes from how I inserted my daughter into our homeschool. We're much more workbook oriented than we used to be now that I teach two kids with such disparities! He's rebelling against the workbooks. Oh, and I noticed his mustache today for the first time. Little peachfuzz that only a mom would notice, but it's there...

It *is* February all over the world.. But cold countries feel it more.

I had a chat with my son, a calm chat, showing him that he's only on chapter 12 in Latin, and that there are 32 chapters. He's doing a chapter every 4 weeks. I had him calculate when his summer vacations would start. He was in tears when he realised, the poor thing. Anyway, he hasn't fought me as much since then.

Well, I don't want to rub it in to all the people with cold Februarys, but here in the desert we hit 75 yesterday. Of course, the nasty bug my kids picked up 10 days ago means that they couldn't really enjoy it much. And when they were outside, they fought constantly. They're both asthmatics and have started back on steroids. So my 2 little 'roid boys got to watch a movie yesterday afternoon, a rare occurance for a school day, just so I didn't have to play referree.

Maybe what we have here is a bad case of the gallopping grumps.

Happy Valentine's Day. A perfect excuse for chocolate!
