Elizabeth86
to keep the littles busy during school time. Ideas for an almost 2 year old and 4 yr old.
wendyroo
I'm not sure what you consider "educational". At those ages, I figure any non-screen play is educational. My almost 2 and 4 year olds love to play together with: - Imaginext - Knex Junior - Play doh - Zoo/Farm and Plastic Animals - Hot wheel cars - Bristle Blocks - Water table (on the back deck or on a water proof tablecloth and a bunch of towels) - Bean bags and targets/containers to throw them at or into - Tearing open and drawing on junk mail - the Wooden Train set - Stickers, stickers and more stickers (I peel off the extra paper around the stickers to make them easier for the kids) - Duplos Wendy
Epicurean
Magnatiles! They're one of the most expensive toys we've ever bought, but they're also the most played with.

MotherGoose
Anything that is not actually meant for toddlers, but is not either a.) a choking hazard (I use this term loosely) and/or b.) something with which they can destroy the house.
MomOfABunch
Mine play with math manipulatives A LOT. At that age, they don't realize that they're not toys. Check for choking hazards for the 2 yo though!
