wehave8
How many days/week do you schedule W&R? We will be doing Books 1 and 3. Pam
RootAnn
When we did Narrative 2, I think we tried to do it four days per week. However, many of the weeks, I'd only get to it three days per week. Some weeks, we'd get to it all four days. We'd just sit down & do it for 20-30 minutes and I'd put a note where we stopped for the day or where we needed to start the next time. We were in no hurry.
Clear Creek
Unless it is one of the really, really short lessons, I spread the lessons out over five days. That way the writing is spread out over different days (i.e. one day is sentence play, another is amplification, another is a summary, etc.).
CAtoVA
I would do one lesson over about 3-4 days. We only have done Book 1 so far but Books 2 & 3 are on schedule for the next year although it may take us 1 1/2 years to do them.
fralala
I regret trying to fit the first few chapters of Book 1 into our 4 day weeks. Now I plan 2 weeks to cover a chapter. It doesn't generally take us 8 days (especially as I feel free to skip some things) but it gives my daughter more time to enjoy and think about exercises (and admittedly not tire of them), especially once it comes to Writing Time.
wehave8
I appreciate the BTDT answers! I always plan for 'this is the way it's suppose to happen,' but end up with 'worse case scenarios' instead. Pam
Raifta
With my DD who is very much into writing, we did a lesson from Books 1, 2 and 3 (so Fable, Narrative 1 and Narrative II) over 2 days, so we crammed a lot into those 2 days. For Chreia, which we completed this year, we typically took 3 days to complete a lesson. On the other hand, with DS, who will likely be starting Fable in the fall, I suspect we will be taking 4 to 5 days to complete a lesson. He just needs a different pace. I could be wrong, but I think we'll start by aiming for 4 days per lesson.
