SparklyUnicorn
My GI appointment cannot come fast enough!! (Tuesday 27th) I'm having a lot of symptoms and it's driving me nutso. He put me back on a high dose of Prevacid and it's not freaking cutting it. I took Zantac on top of it. And I've been chewing on Gaviscon tablets like no tomorrow which is causing other issues. I hardly ate anything the past few days. grrrrrrrrr And the school district gave me a hard time (haven't had issues with them the entire 10 years but suddenly someone decided to be a jerk). So that is stressing me to hell which who knows might be part of why my symptoms are so bad at the moment. I'm sure I have more complaints....LOL
Monica_in_Switzerland
But on the bright side, you talked me into making cole slaw for dinner yesterday... Sorry things suck right now.
SparklyUnicorn
LOL Maybe I should go get some stuff to make coleslaw. Although at the moment I have no appetite. Eh at least losing the last 6 pounds might be easier that way.

scrapbookbuzz
If you have some peppermint essential oil and a carrier oil (olive oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, something like that), or can borrow some, dilute 2-3 drops of the peppermint in about a tbsp of the carrier oil and rub it over your stomach area. Sounds crazy, I know, but it really has helped quite a lot of people!
magnificent_baby
Have you considered surgical options with this severity and no control with medications? I think that would be my next step

I think maybe you've said that you're surgery averse (or maybe I'm not remembering correctly), but if there's some procedure that would fix the issue, I hope the doc will offer it as an option.
Guest
:crying: That sucks. Can you trade out the Gaviscon for Pepto-Bismal for a day and see if it helps?
BarbecueMom
Just take one of everything and a 6-pack of essential oils. . . . Sorry. You know I'm kidding. But thank you for reminding me to call the GI office to make an appointment. They are closed for lunch right now, which seems to be a really cruel message to people calling with GI problems. I'm glad they are eating whatever they want while I have an invisible sword sticking through me.

No I'm averse to pointless testing. But I'm not averse to treatment that cold potentially help.

GailV
:grouphug: Aw man, that sounds awful. No advice since I've never dealt with anything like that. Just lots of cyber hugs, which, given how hot and sticky it is today, are probably better than the real thing!

Amy in NH
Sounds like more than some reflux. Diverticulitis? Hemorrhagic gastritis?
SparklyUnicorn
Sounds like more than some reflux. Diverticulitis? Hemorrhagic gastritis? I have no symptoms of either of those things. I recently joined a support group for people who want to get or have gotten the LINX surgery. I found my ppl. LOL 100% they say the exact same things as I've felt/gone through and they all had/have GERD/reflux/hiatal hernia.
