Ailaena
I saw my SIL last weekend and was excited because I thought she was pregnant. But it was just terrible fashion 😒

I hope you didn't congratulate her. Ironically, I just came across this article. It made me laugh. Carol in Cal.
I do like the longer tunics that are popular now.
Ailaena
Oh dear. I hope you didn't congratulate her. Lolol, I did not, but mostly because we were at her sister's baby shower and it would probably have been quite rude to steal the thunder :p It was aterwards that she lamented over her clothing choice.
SparklyUnicorn
I like some of it, but some of it looks just like you describe for the same reasons.
MEmama
I like the idea of tunics in theory, but I'm always afraid people will think I'm pregnant. I've decided for me, the key is to wear something more fitted over like a cardigan or jacket. Athletic shops offer more form fitted styles. Athleta, Title 9, REI etc. I'm really disliking all the cut out/ peekaboo shirts right now. I don't wanna show off my sports bra, thanks!

(The article would be PG13 for language.) http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-7-most-baffling-things-about-womens-clothes/ OMG, yes on the thin materials!!! I have a short sleeved tunic that I really like. I accept the need to wear a cami under it. Why in the world does my bra still have to show through?!?!? WHY?!?!? It's not okay! It's 85* and humid. I cannot be expected to deal with 4 clingy layers all summer!

Joyofsixreboot
arbitrary clothing sizes...ah yup....I hate this! I shouldn't need to take three of the same item to the dressing room because it is size roulette. (The article would be PG13 for language.) http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-7-most-baffling-things-about-womens-clothes/ That article made it hard to swallow my coffee! Hilarious! And so true. Grrrr 3/4 length sleeves. Why oh why does anyone think they are a good idea (DOES anyone think they are a good idea)? If it's warm, I want short sleeves. If it's cold, I don't want half my arm to be freezing. I just.dont. get it.

Any long sleeve cardigans I wear get pushed up to 3/4 sleeves. I live in the south but AC makes me freeze. 3/4 length sleeves are my fave.

Pawz4me
Sizes that aren't consistent. If you find a brand of jeans that fit and you need as size 10 (or whatever) you can't assume another size 10 of that brand will fit the same. You HAVE to try it on or risk having to return it.
TravelingChris
My youngest and I were out yesterday and while we were going to a doctor's appt, we passed a store called the pants store. SO on our way back. we decided to stop in. We go in and can't see any pants. The store is filled with shirts. When we finally see pants on a small section of the wall and then find sale pants, dd goes to try. The pants were too small for what she needed (not so tight she can't wear thin long johns under them) and they didn't have anything higher than a size eight. Dopey store. (The article would be PG13 for language.) http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-7-most-baffling-things-about-womens-clothes/ What makes me sad is that that this article was written in 2012 and everything in it is still valid. Nothing has changed. My kids laugh that all I wear are my Duluth trading tank tops and a cardigan. Why? Because I can wear the tank top without 3 other layers.

iamonlyone
I am short and this stuff makes me look, at best, like a cube. Or a troll. No shape what so ever. Hate it. Yes! I'm not short, so I actually look more like a triangle than a cube (my daughter said it's the first time she could apply the term "pear-shaped" to me). ...And I could have been mistaken for a troll too, but I'm telling myself that house elfs are cuter. I don't mind these styles (although I agree with others that there are an awful lot of inconveniently placed cutouts). They look really cute on some people. But I wish they had a variety of styles (like the swim industry has finally learned). I agree that shirts from the sports areas, as someone mentioned, are a good option. They fit me well. But I would like to buy a new dress for my daughter's graduation next spring, and I hope there is something to choose from besides swingy and A-line and swingy with an empire waist. Even fitted bodices with high waists don't look great on me. Maybe I'll wear a skirt and a sports shirt. Edited June 23, 2017 by iamonlyone
