dsmith
Ds prefers a typical textbook, while I wouldn't mind some online resources to go along with it, although I'm not stuck on that. He also needs a lab component. He is not interested in an online course - they just don't work for him at all. I've been looking at the Holt McDougal text and at the Oak Meadow course and plan on looking for other options today, but if you've used something that you loved, please let me know what it is, why you loved it, what you used for labs, additional reading, cool projects, etc.
Clear Creek
For environmental science this past year my daughter used Holt environmental science. I just bought an older version of the textbook for around $10, then googled for teacher pages that had labs, webquests, videos, and activities. This one, this one, and this one are sites I drew from heavily to create her course. In addition to the labs I found online, I used this free lab workbook (she did lots of labs for this course, it really helped her understanding of the material), and the last two weeks of the course were spent on forestry field studies outdoors (on our property since we have plenty of trees) using this manual.

Thank you! That was very helpful and will definitely keep me busy for the next few days. :001_smile:
