PeachyDoodle
Title pretty much says it all. I'm thinking of ordering Teaching the Classics for myself, but it will put a dent in this year's school budget. Is it worth the price tag? FWIW, I have a degree in English and know how to analyze literature, but I could use some help learning to teach it. I would like to implement more Socratic-style discussion across the board in our school, especially with dd12, who really seems to learn well that way.
Monica_in_Switzerland
I love it. I don't have a degree in literature, but heavily emphasized it in my learning through college. I found it to be incredibly helpful. At your daughter's age, you may even watch some of the videos with her.
Finlandia
I just watched all the videos for the first time about a month ago. I definitely thought they were worth it. I anticipate rewatching them (maybe annually?) as my children grow (my oldest is a rising 2nd grader). I even think DH would enjoy them. Neither of us have English degrees though. We're both in the medical field, so our training in literary analysis is a little lacking 😊
ScoutTN
I am strong in lit and I think ot has helped me to be a better teacher. Prob watching the videos again, this time with dd12, soon.

aprilleigh
Do you think the 120-page syllabus would be sufficient, or do you really gain a lot from the full package?
