Lizzie in Ma Posted May 25, 2017 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Dear friends, It's been the longest dark period of our lives since 4/29. But we are moving forward, bit by bit. The status of mental health resources here is abysmal for adolescents. But due to the acute nature of the situation, we have advocates working to get Jenny the help she needs. She is home now and seems better, on new meds and just last night, was presented with some extraordinary opportunities which we are hopeful will increase her sense of self worth. She will absolutely not be going back to public school. We are going to try to finish out high school with PA Homeschoolers. Looking at a home equity line of credit to deal with that because spots are filling up quickly. It so ironic that a place that has been so bad for her just gave her their highest award and she wasn't there for the ceremony. She got Top Shop which is an award that goes to one person from all grades in the entire school. She also got other awards but I don't know what those are yet.
