tammyw
My (just turning) 11 year old son has run out of shows to watch! Some of the things he's loved in the past - Spongebob, We Bare Bears, Granite Flats, Timeless (we all loved that show!), Leave it to Beaver, the recent Series of Unfortunate Events show on Netflix. He would like something that isn't too scary, and no sex. Any suggestions for new things to try out? We have cable, netflix, and Amazon prime. J-rap
Get Smart. They're a hoot. Not the movie, but the old TV episodes. You do have to pay for them on Amazon ($1.99 an episode I think). However, you can also buy a whole season on Amazon for $12.00, or $9.00 for the DVD. (And their seasons are long -- 30 episodes.)

Farrar
Things my 12 yos are super into... Masterchef Junior Survivor Amazing Race Project Runway Steven Universe Gravity Falls ... Mushroom is OBSESSED with both of these - especially Steven Universe at the moment... Simpsons Bob's Burgers Avatar and Korra are perennial favorites here too. When they were a little younger, The Sparticle Mystery was one they were really into, though I'm not sure where it's available anymore. Old Ducktales (the new one is coming soon!!!) and Animaniacs have also been hits here in the past but aren't watched so much at the moment. The no sex thing can get tricky... like, my kids really like a lot of sitcoms and sometimes they mention sex. Like, they really enjoyed Raising Hope and Parks and Recreation. They used to love Jane the Virgin (though they didn't love the second half of this season) and they got into Ugly Betty for a little while. If he likes history... the one with The guy from NCIS New Orleans. What was that called. Ever episode ended with "Oh boy...". But he may not yet be ready for that to get enough of it. Renthead Mommy
Oh! Speaking of history! Check out Voyagers! The one where they travel through time fixing mistakes, and the guy lost his manuel, but the kid is a walking history book. Great fun show, but only about two seasons.
